Our Story
It all started with a kitchen experiment.
Aura Bora was born in 2019, in a small San Francisco kitchen, out of a simple frustration: we loved sparkling water, but we couldn’t find any flavors we actually loved.
Our founders, Paul and Maddie Voge, grew up drinking sparkling water thanks to health-conscious moms who wouldn’t let them touch soda. But as adults, they kept staring at the same handful of flavors on every store shelf — and they wanted something better. Paul, who was drinking 10 to 12 cans a day, kept wondering why nobody had ever made a lavender cucumber sparkling water.
So they started mixing crushed herbs and real fruit into a home carbonator. Trial after trial, they kept chasing one goal: to create the best-tasting sparkling water in the world. Their first accidental hit, Lavender Cucumber, came together almost by magic. By October of that year, they’d bottled their first 1,000 cans.
Aura Bora was born.
What We Believe
Sparkling water shouldn’t need to hide behind sweeteners, citric acid, or “natural flavors” you can’t pronounce. We think the best drink is made from things you can pronounce — herbs, fruits, and flowers.
That’s why every Aura Bora flavor is brewed from real plant extracts — real cardamom, real basil, real lavender, real ginger, real rose, real elderflower, real vanilla — infused into crisp, purified water.
What we leave out:
- Zero sugar
- Zero sweeteners (no stevia, no monk fruit, no aspartame)
- Zero citric acid — no bitter aftertaste, no upset stomach
- Zero artificial ingredients
- Zero sodium
- Zero calories
Our drinks get their soft, earthy sweetness straight from the plants themselves. Nothing more.
The Water
Great sparkling water starts with great H₂O.
Our water is filtered by reverse osmosis, which removes PFAS, fluoride, and other contaminants — leaving nothing behind but crisp, clean, delicious water. Then we infuse it with botanicals and carbonate it just right.

Making a great drink shouldn’t cost the Earth.
